We are a small group of hard-working parents who send our children to independent schools, as well as friends who support us. We are not a party political group, and we have a range of different political views. Nor are we a business. We are all volunteers trying to do what’s right.
Contrary to popular belief, hardly any independent school parents are colossally rich – we work hard, pay taxes, and go without luxuries in order to support our kids. We created this site to share our stories, our reasons for making this choice and the sacrifices that came with it. We also want to show why school fee VAT won’t improve education as promised, and we’d welcome discussion or consultation regarding other approaches to make schools better.
Ultimately, it is children who will pay the price for this policy: Children in independent schools who are forced to leave the schools they know, love and, in some cases, need–as well as children in state schools unable to secure a place at their preferred school or receive the special education needs (SEND) support they need.
